TCR Targeted Charging Review

Time running out - are you ready?

Following a request from National Grid ESO, Ofgem have announced a 12 month delay in the implementation of changes to the distribution charges (TNuoS) element of the Targeted Charging Review (TCR). From April 2021 to April 2022, citing “an increasing view in industry that the timeline for implementing the TCR reforms contains significant risks, and there is a growing concern that accurate charges may not be delivered on time.”

What this means is… we can still take advantage from triad management for another winter up to and including winter 2021/22.

The other planned changes below will still go-ahead:

In April 2021, the Balancing Services Use of System (BSuoS) charges will move from net to gross charging, removing the benefit of current fixed costs behind supply connected generation
Changes to set the TNuoS residual to zero for supply connected generation benefits, are set to go ahead in April 2021
New distribution (DuoS) demand changes to TNuoS are have now been postponed until April 2022
